November 02, 2022Your Guide to What's Happening at Crossroads |
What does Living a Changed Life look like?
One summary can be found in II Corinthians 5:14-21 “For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. 16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. NIV There are multiple scriptures I could have employed to summarize living a changed life, but this portion certainly gives us a complete picture of how Christ desires us to live, because of who we are. I bolded impacting statements. Here they are compiled: Love compels us because we are convinced that we no longer live to ourselves, we don’t regard people from the world's point of view, because anyone that is in Christ is a new creation, the old is gone and the new has come. And since Jesus reconciled us, we then are able to reconcile others in Christ, therefore, becoming ambassadors of Jesus! That's living a changed life. In case you missed the testimonies from the second service, they are available by clicking on the link below. I encourage you to watch them and you will be blessed! Here’s one more written testimony I later received. Laura writes, “This book has expanded my heart. I’ve always been thankful that Jesus died for me so that I could be born again, forgiven to have everlasting life with Jesus. However, the book reminded me that my changed life means I must be a life changer by telling others. Living a Changed Life convicted me that I have been complacent in sharing my faith. This is the heart of Jesus and I want to be obedient to His heart.” In November I plan to start a series called, Developing a Generous Heart. This theme continues from what we set in the summer of Preparing for Increase! We started in prayer, next evangelism, just finished discipleship, and now we’re heading into generosity. Someone recently shared that the two most prominent pieces of evidence in the book of Acts were healing and generosity. Just as the Holy Spirit worked wonders in the discipleship (Living a Changed Life) series, I’m expecting great things from our series on developing a generous heart. This Sunday my focus will be on seeing God as a generous God! For more infomation visit:
