Your Guide to What's Happening at Crossroads

Crossing a Threshold

Crossing a Threshold

On Sunday we celebrated crossing a threshold. We reached and surpassed the $500,000 goal in the Building Our Legacy Fund! Wow, what a milestone moment! I marvel at the goodness of God and the faith of his people in how He has directed us and provided funds to reach this goal in under two years.  So what’s next?

Now that we have crossed this threshold, the next move is to enter the “threshing floor.” What’s the difference? A threshold is a marker that when crossed brings you into a new room, possibility, or opportunity. A threshing floor is the place of separation and revelation!  The Old Testament has twenty-nine occurrences of the word “threshold.” There are twenty-six mentions of the word “threshing floor.” The two go hand in hand. When you cross over a threshold you enter the threshing floor.

I felt like the Lord said to reach 500K and THEN he would reveal what’s next. Now that we’ve crossed that threshold, we move onto the threshing floor of separation and revelation. What’s the separation mean? It’s time to discern the options before us OR ask God to reveal an option he has in mind that may not be presented to us yet. At present, we have six properties in consideration. We, as the elder team, have processed each one. I’ve invited a special BOL prayer team to join in seeking God with us. While one of present options could be the one, I’m also not convinced we have THE one. Time will tell.

Now, it’s time to seek the Lord for revelation on this matter. I am fully persuaded that God has a place in mind for us to own and name. This is a journey of faith. Hanging above my office desk is a photo of a railroad. The caption says, “What is started in faith, must be finished by faith.” As we continue to ask God to show us the next steps, he is faithful, and I believe we will be as well. Pray and stay turned!

I wanted to give a special plug for the ABBAcare Shine for Life event happening this Saturday, May 14th, from 10 am to 2 pm at the Open Door Baptist Church off 81 at exit 321 in Clear Brook (333 Jeremiah Lane). This is the church that can be seen from I81 with the big cross. I encourage you to attend or sponsor someone who is participating. In the wake of the expected Supreme Court decision, our voice is needed right now to support the life of the unborn. Let’s show solidarity for a great event. If you would like to join or sponsor someone, go to our website. If you would like to attend, contact Deborah Fitzner. Blessings on your week!
